How to grind a parabolic mirror for telescope ?

What are the steps and costs involved ?.. What things I need to purchase ? Also how to make sure that mirror is being ground to accurate parabolic shape ?...After glass is ground how to make a mirror out of it. I have a shaving concave ( 10 inch) mirror at home. But it distorts. Is it still possible to use it in any way ?
