   The problem with so-called "nebula" filters is that they operate by blocking _everything_ but the light coming from nebulae, so that only a tiny fraction of the incoming light gets through the filter. Generally they are not recommended for anything smaller than 8-inches aperture, because there's not enough light to penetrate the filter. You will have the same problem with the Lumicon filter, which is a very good one. Basically you need a larger telescope to take advantage of it.
